Final Series

Image
This final series was taken in downtown Ybor. I chose this location because I felt it was an area that illustrated the many different lifestyles that are present in Florida. I wanted to be able to show the different store fronts and entrances that give the viewer different things to notice and look at, by allowing their eyes to look more into the picture.

Pictures were taken in Downtown St. Petersburg near Beach Drive, and on Ben T. Davis Beach. Both of these areas were used as a background and setup for this portrait series because these were both places that the models felt comfortable. I wanted to portray them in an element that they both could express true emotion and possess a feeling of beauty and confidence in their own skin. I wanted to be able to use somewhat secluded and less busy places so the models would not feel judged or awkward.

Link to Vimeo Video A 48 second video compiled of 72 pictures. The pictures used in the video were taken in the Miami FL. Wynwood art district, a place that is known for its multiple outdoor museums that hold a mass amount of colorful street walls and murals done by some of the world's best known street artists. I wanted to experiment with movement through motion photography by compiling images into a video format.

Place + Experience + Landscape

Wat Mongkolratanaram Thai Buddhist Temple, Tampa FL. This location isn't just popular for it's weekly Sunday Market. It's The Thai art influenced landscape that draws both local Floridians and tourists to come visit. Being conveniently tucked away by tall greenery, located along the banks of the Palm River are some aspects that enhance the architecture's beauty and bold colors in such a covered setting. There is a certain calmness quality that comes from the surrounding trees and plants giving it a safe mother nature nurturing feeling.
